Need help ordering custom engravings from Frame of Reference? I’ve written up this handy how-to guide about how to order custom engravings. Let’s get started!

  1. Preparing your materials

High quality materials make for a high quality product! Make sure you have high resolution versions of your materials available for me. By doing this, the resulting engraving has more details compared to a low resolution photo. I explain this in more detail in my other how-to guide: “Difference between high and low-resolution images”.

The important things to keep in mind: make sure the details are sharp, in focus and well-lit. Here’s a quick example of the difference a high-resolution image can make. As you can see, certain details can’t be recognized as well when the image is of a low resolution.

  2. Choosing a product to engrave

Now that you have prepared your image, it’s time to choose a product! Simply go to the Custom Engravings page and choose one of the base products. I regularly add new products, so be sure to check in from time to time. You can upload the image from the previous step by clicking on the “Upload” button on the product page. Make sure to use an email address you regularly use! I’ll be needing that for the next step.

  3. Making your order

Now that I received your order, it’s time to start making it! Sometimes, I want to confirm certain things while creating your engraving. Like when I’m about to perform engraving, I will send an example picture to you. That way I can make sure that I can meet (or exceed) your expectations!

  4. And it’s done!

And there you have it. All you need to know for your custom products! And if you have any other questions: you can contact me on social media or email by going to my About page.
